Scriptures: Matthew 4:23-25, Matthew 15:30, Luke 8:44, Luke 8:46-48, Matthew 8:8-13, John 5:6-9, John 5:14, Acts 9:15-18, Mark 8:23-26

God desires that we be healed and whole physically, emotionally, and mentally as much as he desires we be whole spiritually. All are important if the gospel of the kingdom is properly taught. At least, that was the way Jesus saw it.

Matthew 4:23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, TEACHING in their synagogues, and PREACHING the gospel of the kingdom, and HEALING all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.

What are the three ways that Jesus conveyed the kingdom? Healing is no less important than is preaching and teaching. Healing was an intricate part of the message and ministry of Jesus Christ.

Matthew 4:24 News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed, and he healed them.

Matthew 4:25 Large crowds from Galilee, the Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea and the region across the Jordan followed him.

Jesus Wants to Tell You Something sermon video audio notes

Jesus based his outreach ministry on healing people! He would heal a person and that person would spread the news and bring others to be healed. People followed Jesus because he took time to pray for them and allow the power of God to heal them. Jesus healed people so they would spread the news about him. In a few minutes, we will be praying for your healing. Go ahead right now and tell God who all you will tell when he heals you.

Jesus literally healed thousands of people during his ministry.

Matthew 15:30 Great crowds came to him, bringing the lame, the blind, the crippled, the mute and many others, and laid them at his feet; and he healed them.

Though there were thousands of people healed by Jesus, there are only around fifteen specific and more detailed stories of Jesus healing people. Why were these fifteen stories selected from the thousands of healings? One reason is to let you know that GOD WILL FIND A WAY TO HEAL YOU. All fifteen (or so) of those specific healings were done in a different way. Sometimes, Jesus would speak and release a word and heal. Also, sometimes, Jesus would rebuke a sickness. Furthermore, sometimes, he would touch and speak to a person’s body and command it to be healed. Moreover, sometimes, Jesus would show that getting people healed was far more important than any religious idea and heal people on the Sabbath day.

Sometimes, he forgave sin and healed. Sometimes, he would use people to heal others. Jesus got people healed in different ways. THE POINT IS THAT GOD WILL FIND A WAY TO HEAL YOU. HE WILL — USE ANYTHING – SPIT, OIL, HANDS, WORDS, PEOPLE, ETC. – TO GET YOU HEALED.

Not only does the Lord want to find a way to get you healed, but JESUS WANTS TO SAY SOMETHING TO YOU AND OTHERS BEFORE, DURING, OR AFTER YOUR HEALING. JESUS WANTS TO TELL YOU SOMETHING. Today I want you to open your heart and see if the Lord is trying to tell you something that may be the key to your miracle.

Do you remember the story about the woman who had the hemorrhage or the issue of blood for twelve years?

She had spent all her money on doctors, but none could help her. One day Jesus came to her city and a man named Jairus persuaded Jesus to go to his house to heal his sick and dying daughter. Jairus was urgently leading Jesus down the streets on an “ambulance march.” A crowd of people gathered around Jesus and followed him. In this crowd of people was the woman with the hemorrhage of blood.

Luke 8:44 She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and IMMEDIATELY HER BLEEDING STOPPED.

Jesus felt healing power leave him and began asking who had touched him. Peter told Jesus that it was impossible to know who had touched him.

Luke 8:46 But Jesus told him, “No, SOMEONE DELIBERATELY TOUCHED ME, for I felt healing power go out from me.”

Before we go on making my point, let’s make certain that we see that this woman DELIBERATELY TOUCHED Jesus. She had deliberated about this, and she had purposely thought through it. She had seen herself touching his garment and being healed. In a few minutes, several of you will be coming down for prayer. Do it DELIBERATELY. Right now begin DELIBERATING about your healing. Don’t doubt it. See it happening. DELIBERATELY touch Jesus.

Jesus began going back through the crowd intensely seeking the one person who had touched him. “Who did that… who touched me?” WHY? I mean, why would Jesus stop such an important trip as going to Jairus’ house to heal his daughter? HE WANTED TO TELL THE WOMAN SOMETHING.

Jesus Wants to Tell You Something sermon video audio notes

(NIV) Luke 8:47 Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed.

Luke 8:48 Then he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.”

Why did Jesus stop such an important “ambulance run” to Jairus’ house? It was because Jesus wanted to tell the woman something that concerned her miracle. It wasn’t only important that she be healed. Certainly, it was also important that she hear something.

Jesus said that her faith had healed her. In other words, Jesus said don’t let your faith slip. Remain faithful to God and faithful to the kingdom. You can enjoy a peaceful life if you remain faithful. THERE WAS A MIRACLE IN HER FAITHFULNESS AND SHE NEEDED TO KNOW IT. She grabbed him with faithfulness and her miracle was in her faithfulness. JESUS WANTS TO TELL YOU SOMETHING and it could be the key to your ongoing health and peace.

I was thinking about KC’s testimony a few weeks ago about how God gave him a miraculous healing. He struggled the morning he was healed with coming to church. He was hurting and felt awful, but he was faithful and he grabbed Jesus with his faithfulness and got a miracle. There was a miracle in his faithfulness.

Do you remember the Gentile Roman centurion who came to Jesus with the request for his paralyzed servant to be healed? Jesus told the Gentile centurion that he would go to the paralyzed servant and heal him. Do you remember what the centurion said?

Jesus Wants to Tell You Something sermon video audio notes

Matthew 8:8-10

8 The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed.

9 For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”

10 When Jesus heard this, he was ASTONISHED and said to those following him, “I tell you the truth, I have not found anyone IN ISRAEL with such great faith.

We tend to stop there and stack this passage up with all the other “faith” scriptures we have. We dislocate it from what Jesus wanted to tell the people before he healed the centurion’s son. Something ASTONISHED Jesus. What was it? This man, this Gentile man, understood the kingdom. It makes the Lord’s eyes light up and his heart beat fast when someone understands the kingdom.

Matthew 8:10-12

10 When Jesus heard this, he was ASTONISHED and SAID to those following him, “I tell you the truth, I have not found anyone IN ISRAEL with such great faith.

11 I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.

12 But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

Jesus Wants to Tell You Something sermon video audio notes

Jesus wanted to tell the centurion and people something that day. He wanted to tell them and also people TODAY that God loves you as much as he loves anyone. He doesn’t love the Jewish people more than he loves you. Your healing and security do not come in your being a Jew. It comes in realizing who Jesus is. The Gentiles, like that centurion and you and me, who understand the kingdom, would be coming into the kingdom and would be with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob – grafted in. God loves you as much as he loves anyone. He desires to heal you.

Matthew 8:13 Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go! It will be done just as you believed it would.” AND HIS SERVANT WAS HEALED AT THAT VERY HOUR.

Jesus wanted to tell them that THERE IS A MIRACLE IN UNDERSTANDING THE KINGDOM AND KNOWING WHO JESUS IS. Do you need a miracle for yourself or for a loved one? Recognize who Jesus is. Realize that God loves you and wants to heal you. JESUS WANTS TO TELL YOU SOMETHING.

One day Jesus was at a feast in Jerusalem and passed by the pool of Bethesda. Tradition said that an angel would come and stir the water and the first person in the pool would be healed. Jesus noticed many sick people around the pool. He saw the blind, the lame, and the paralyzed, but for some reason, one man who had been an invalid for thirty-eight years captured Jesus’ attention. Jesus asked the man an interesting question.

John 5:6 When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?

Let me encourage you to want to get well. I know that sounds strange, but never give up. Isn’t that an interesting question to ask someone who has been sick for thirty-eight years? The man’s answer is also interesting.

John 5:7 “Sir,” the invalid replied, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.”

Jesus Wants to Tell You Something sermon video audio notes

Did you know that being negative and talking about people can hinder your healing for thirty-eight years? It seems the man would rather be negative and talk about people than focus on his healing.

Jesus told the man “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.”

John 5:9 At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked. The day on which this took place was a Sabbath

Later, Jesus specifically went and found the man because Jesus had something that he needed to communicate to the healed man.

John 5:14 Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, “See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.”

Why did Jesus go and find the man? JESUS WANTED TO TELL HIM SOMETHING. The man had some issues in his life, but that did not stop Jesus from healing him. Jesus healed the man and then dealt with his issues. Your issues will not stop the Lord from healing you, but they may stop you from keeping your miracle. What is the Lord saying to you about issues in your life?

You remember the healing and conversion of Saul before he became the apostle Paul. Saul was a Pharisee who greatly persecuted Christians. One day on his way to Damascus the Lord appeared in a bright light and Saul went blind.

Acts 9:9 For three days he was blind, and did not eat or drink anything.

The Lord had spoken to a man named Ananias and instructed him to go and pray for Saul and to tell Saul some important things.

Jesus Wants to Tell You Something sermon video audio notes

Acts 9:15 But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This man is my chosen instrument to carry my name before the Gentiles and their kings and before the people of Israel.

Ananias did pray for Saul.

Acts 9:17 Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord – Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here – has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”

Acts 9:18 Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he could see again. He got up and was baptized

Why did Jesus send Ananias to Saul? JESUS WANTED TO TELL SAUL SOMETHING. In a few minutes, there will be some people down here to pray for you. They may have something to tell you that the Lord wants you to know about what you are to do in the kingdom. THERE IS A MIRACLE IN RESPONDING TO YOUR CALLING.

Once, Jesus was in the city of Bethsaida and some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to heal him. Jesus did a very interesting thing.

Mark 8:23 He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When he had spit on the man’s eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus asked, “Do you see anything?”

Mark 8:24 He looked up and said, “I see people; they look like trees walking around.”

The man did not receive his miracle when Jesus first prayed for him. Isn’t that interesting? Did you know that your environment could block your miracle? Even Jesus himself had to pray for this one more than once. Lifestyles and relationships can block our miracles.

Jesus Wants to Tell You Something sermon video audio notes

Jesus prayed for the man again. Don’t stop seeking your healing miracle. Laban had to dunk in the Jordan River seven times to be healed of leprosy. In a few minutes, we will be praying for people. Don’t say, “Well I have been prayed for before so I am not going to try again.” No. Let Jesus touch you again.

Mark 8:25 Once more Jesus put his hands on the man’s eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly.

Mark 8:26 Jesus sent him home, saying, “DON’T GO INTO THE VILLAGE.”

Why did Jesus take the man out of the city? JESUS WANTED TO TELL HIM SOMETHING AND JESUS WANTS TO TELL YOU SOMETHING.

After he had healed the man, Jesus told him, “Don’t go into the village.” Have you ever seen someone healed or delivered, but because they went back to their old lifestyle and environment, they became ill again?

Do you need a miracle in your body today? Jesus wants you healed so that you will spread the news about him. He will find a way to get you healed. Is he trying to tell you something? Can you deliberately listen and touch him today? He wants to tell you today to understand the kingdom and how important you are to God. Don’t be negative. Perhaps he wants to tell you to deal with issues in your life. Maybe Jesus wants to tell you to do something in the kingdom. Or, maybe he wants to tell you that you have an environment that you need to leave. Please listen. Jesus wants to say something that could well be the key to your miracle.

How many want to listen to the Lord and see if he wants to say something that is the key to your miracle? Give the Lord a shout and handclap. Amen!
