Today is Father’s Day. I want to begin with a little Bible trivia. Adam was the first natural father fathering Cain and Able and Seth. Who was the next father? I’ll give you a minute to think about it. How did Adam’s fatherhood work out? One son violently murdered the other and then left home. It didn’t work out too well did it? Who was Adam’s father? The Lord God was, correct? Can you have a godly father and not be a good father or mother? Have you figured out who the next father was after Adam?

Genesis 4:16-17 So CAIN WENT OUT FROM THE LORD’S PRESENCE and lived in the land of Nod, east of Eden. Cain lay with his wife, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Enoch.

This Enoch was not the Enoch who walked with God (Gen 5:22-24). Genesis 4:18-24 gives the names of about 1,100 years, ten generations, of fathers in the lineage of Cain who became more and more wicked out from the Lord’s presence… (continue sermon notes)
