The Gospel of Luke Chapter 21

The Gospel of Luke Chapter 21 audio video notes. This entire chapter is only concerning one thing. That is the coming of the Son of man, i.e., Jesus. However, his coming is not and never concerned the end of the world as those teaching eschatology today attempt to tell us. It’s actually about the end of Judaism and temple worship. We could say the end of the Law of Moses or what we call the Old Covenant. Jesus gave the longest discourse (answer) here to any question asked him. He was specific and wanted his followers to be aware and avoid what he called great tribulation in Matthew 24:21. We taught two messages from this chapter: Coming of Jesus the Son of Man part 1, and Coming of Jesus the Son of Man part 2 Great Tribulation.

I taught this frequently to our congregation, so it was only necessary to refresh people on the topic and to challenge those who had not heard this before to investigate the topic.

Coming of Jesus the Son of Man part 1 video audio notes Luke 21:5-19

Here we are given specifics on the coming of Jesus the Son of man by Jesus Himself. Many are taught this is about the great tribulation, the rapture of the church, and end-time events. It’s not, but it is a coming of Jesus the Son of Man. This may not be what you’ve been taught, but let’s examine the Scriptures and then make a decision.

Coming of Jesus Son of Man 2 Luke 21:20-36 audio video notes. The disciples were obviously concerned about the statements Jesus made concerning the desolation of the temple (Mat 23:38) and commented about its magnificence to which Jesus basically replied, “It’s coming down! And it’s coming down in your lifetime.” Astonished the disciples asked two questions. When will these things happen? and “What will be the sign that they are about to take place?” This entire section, Luke 21:5-36, is about these two questions. Jesus gave them specifics. When we bring together the books of Matthew, Mark, and Luke on this topic we see what Jesus meant clearly.
