I want to talk to you again today about DESIRE. I am trying to show us the power of DESIRE in life. Everything you accomplish in life that matters comes from DESIRE. Everything you possess in life that matters comes from DESIRE. DESIRE is powerful. Today, I want to emphasize the power of DESIRE WHEN YOU PRAY.
Mark 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye DESIRE, WHEN YE PRAY, believe that ye receive them, and YE SHALL HAVE THEM.
Jesus said if you want a dynamic prayer life, attach DESIRE to what you pray. PRAY that DESIRE. Then BELIEVE. Believe what? Believe that you receive the DESIRE. To BELIEVE it, you must see it. See your body healed. Visualize those you pray for healed. Certainly, see yourself out of debt. Emphatically, see yourself at that new job. Also, see your children obedient and serving God. See yourself prosperous. Believe that you receive them, and YE SHALL HAVE THEM.
Too many Christ followers stop at only asking. ASKING MUST MOVE TO DESIRE and DESIRE will move us to believe.
1 John 5:15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we DESIRED of him.
DESIRE moves God. HE WILL HEAR WHAT WE ASK, BUT WE HAVE WHAT WE DESIRED OF HIM.

PRAYER WITH DESIRE is first DESIRING TO PRAY.
1 Timothy 2:1 I urge, then, FIRST OF ALL, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone
I think it is safe to say that most believers believe in prayer, but it is also safe to say that few believers pray as a priority – FIRST OF ALL. Many people, even lost people, pray in a crisis. Everybody reaches for God’s help in crisis. Praying with a DESIRE does not come from people who only pray in tough times. It does not come from people who talk about prayer, or from people who can teach wonderful lessons about prayer. Praying with DESIRE comes from people with a passion, a DESIRE, to pray FIRST OF ALL. They take time they do not have, and they take time from other things, important things, and urgent things. Also, they schedule other things after they FIRST OF ALL pray. Prayer brings answers and solutions to other things, important things, and urgent things.
One of the most common excuses people give for not praying, even though they believe in prayer, is that they do not have time to pray. That is not accurate. The truth is they do not DESIRE to pray. Jesus said DESIRE, WHEN YOU PRAY.
I watch believers and question where we are today concerning prayer. For example, if people get sick, the first thing they do is go to the doctor or get some medication. Praise God for doctors and medicine, but the FIRST thing we need to do is pray. We need to lay hands on them and FIRST OF ALL PRAY. People go through marital problems. The first thing people think about is marriage counseling. Praise God for good counseling, but FIRST OF ALL PRAY. If I can get a husband and wife sincerely DESIRING to pray together, that marriage will not need counseling.

The next thing about PRAYING WITH DESIRE is that prayers must be made. We make prayers. Ingredients of prayer are DESIRE, believing, words, time, etc. However, nothing happens if prayers are never made. If prayers are not made and going up, then answers are not given and coming down. God gave us a real visual of this activity through Jacob.
Genesis 28:12-15 And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the ANGELS OF GOD ASCENDING AND DESCENDING ON IT. There above it stood the LORD, and he said: “I am the LORD… I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go…”
Jacob saw angels ceaselessly ascending and descending. The word Angel means messenger. The angels were ceaselessly ascending with messages – prayers – to the Lord and ceaselessly descending with messages – answers – from the Lord. The Lord showed Jacob that God assigned angels to Jacob. God would watch over Jacob wherever he went by the ceaseless ministry of angels. The Lord assigned Jacob angels. You have angels assigned to you. Jesus confirmed this as he warned about despising his little ones.
(NLT) Matthew 18:10 Beware that you don’t despise a single one of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven THEIR ANGELS are always in the presence of my heavenly Father.
If you are a little one of God, you have angels. Jesus said to not mess with his little ones or you will have to deal with their angels. You have angels trying to watch over you wherever you go, but you have to send them up the ladder. Angels are assigned to minister to us and serve us.
Hebrews 1:14 Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?
If you are an inheritor of salvation, you have angels sent to you. However, if the angels carry nothing up the ladder, then they bring nothing down. However, if you DESIRE TO FIRST PRAY, you get your angels active with your DESIRES.
Acts 10:3-4 He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day AN ANGEL OF GOD COMING IN TO HIM, and saying unto him, Cornelius. And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, THY PRAYERS and thine alms are COME UP for a MEMORIAL BEFORE GOD.

Cornelius was a man who prayed with DESIRE. He DESIRED to pray. His angel came to him with the answers to his prayers. The angel told him that his prayers were a memorial before God. I thought about that. Cornelius’ prayers piled up into a huge memorial that reminded God of Cornelius’ petitions. Sometimes prayers must pile up and become A MEMORIAL BEFORE GOD. Then, one day, YOU SHALL HAVE IT!
Luke 11:9-10 So I say to you: ASK [aiteo – DESIRE] and it will be given to you; SEEK and you will find; KNOCK and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks [aiteo – DESIRES] receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
Because Cornelius kept asking and seeking and knocking with DESIRE, God moved upon every family member and every friend of Cornelius. You can touch every family member and every friend if you will get your angels busy by PRAYING WITH DESIRE.
A man named Zacharias and his wife Elizabeth prayed for years for a baby. One day, God sent an angel to answer those prayers.
Luke 1:13 But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for THY PRAYER IS HEARD; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.
John the Baptist was the product of PRAYER WITH DESIRE. One Sunday, I preached a message about how Hannah could not have children, but God answered her prayer and gave her Samuel. A woman came to me who had been trying to get pregnant and asked if God would do that for her. We laid hands on her and prayed with DESIRE. In the next few years, she had three children. I have seen that happen several times.

Angels are involved with THE PRAYERS OF ALL THE SAINTS.
Revelation 8:3 Another ANGEL, who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense to offer, with THE PRAYERS OF ALL THE SAINTS, on the golden altar before the throne.
What I want us to see is that PRAYER WITH DESIRE sends your angels up the ladder carrying your prayers to the Father. Then the Father sends your answers back to you. What is your angel doing? Every day, every morning, FIRST OF ALL, you need to get your angel busy.
The Bible tells of a time when the Lord and angels visited Abraham. Abraham’s angels came with the Lord for the visit. As they left, the Bible says they looked toward Sodom. The Lord told Abraham he was about to destroy Sodom. Abraham’s nephew Lot and his family lived in Sodom. You know the story. Abraham began to pray with DESIRE saying, “If there are 50, 45, 40, 30, 20, 10 righteous, will you not destroy it?” Sadly, there were not even 10 righteous and God destroyed Sodom. However, because Abraham PRAYED WITH DESIRED, God sent angels and took Lot out.

Genesis 19:29 And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that GOD REMEMBERED ABRAHAM, AND SENT LOT OUT of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in the which Lot dwelt.
The only reason that God spared Lot was GOD REMEMBERED ABRAHAM. You may have loved ones living in a natural or spiritual Sodom and Gomorra. I have relatives there. One day, judgment will come, but if you pray for them with DESIRE, God will remember you and spare your loved one. God will say, “I have got to send angels and save that one because somebody PRAYED WITH DESIRE!”
Abraham put Hagar and Ishmael out of his camp. Hagar and her child wandered around in the wilderness. Their food and water were given out. Hagar put her child under a bush and walked away saying she could not watch her child die.
Genesis 21:16 And she went, and sat her down over against him a good way off, as it were a bowshot: for she said, Let me not see the death of the child. And she sat over against him, and lift up her voice, and wept.
This is a generation where parents are in the wilderness with their children. They put their children under bushes and walk away trying not to watch as they become strung out on drugs, alcohol, or sexually transmitted diseases. Do you know what God will do if you lift up your voice with DESIRE? He will send an angel and rescue your child.

Genesis 21:17 And God heard the voice of the lad; and THE ANGEL OF GOD called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar?…
Somebody needs to pray with DESIRE for children today. God will send angels to rescue them.
God delivered the children of Israel from Egypt. Not very long out of Egypt, Moses went into the mountain and God gave Moses the commandments. While Moses was with God, the people made and worshiped a golden calf. God said, “I am done with these stiff-necked people. I am going to destroy them.”
Exodus 32:10 Now leave me alone so that my anger may burn against them and that I may destroy them. Then I will make you into a great nation.
The Lord told Moses to leave him alone so he would consume those people and start all over with just Moses. However, Moses would not leave the Lord alone. He stepped in and PRAYED WITH DESIRED. He told God to blot his name out too if he was going to destroy the people.
Exodus 32:31-32 So Moses went back to the LORD and said, “Oh, what a great sin these people have committed! They have made themselves gods of gold. But now, please forgive their sin – BUT IF NOT, THEN BLOT ME OUT OF THE BOOK YOU HAVE WRITTEN.
Do you know that the Bible says that God repented because one man PRAYED WITH DESIRED! Do not leave God alone. If you stay before God, he will send his angels.

Exodus 32:34 Therefore now go, lead the people unto the place of which I have spoken unto thee: behold, MINE ANGEL SHALL GO BEFORE THEE: nevertheless in the day when I visit I will visit their sin upon them.
I am trying to tell somebody that if you will PRAY WITH DESIRE, angels will go ahead of you to your promised land.
Hezekiah was a good king of Judah but became very ill. Isaiah the prophet came to Hezekiah with a word from God. “Thus says the Lord. Put your house in order, for you are going to die and not live.” Hezekiah was not ready to die. Instead, he PRAYED WITH DESIRE.
Isaiah 38:2 Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and PRAYED TO THE LORD, “Remember, O LORD, how I have walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes.” And Hezekiah WEPT BITTERLY.
Hezekiah sent a prayer up the ladder and God sent the answer back. The Lord spoke again to Isaiah who was Hezekiah’s angel messenger in this situation.

Isaiah 38:5 “Go and tell Hezekiah, ‘This is what the LORD, the God of your father David, says: I HAVE HEARD YOUR PRAYER and seen your tears; I will add fifteen years to your life.”
The Lord went on to say that as a sign, he would turn back time. He did. The sun moved back ten steps. Never say there is no hope when the doctor gives up on you. God gave this man, who prayed with DESIRE, fifteen more years. PRAYER WITH DESIRE can turn back cancer. Certainly, PRAYER WITH DESIRE can turn back heart disease. Undoubtedly, PRAYER WITH DESIRE can turn back a stroke and add years to a life. I have seen this so many times. There is a man sitting here today whose doctors gave a bad report, but somebody prayed with DESIRE.
I am thinking of a woman whom doctors told several years ago to get her house in order, but I baptized her a few months ago because somebody prayed with DESIRE. There was a girl whose parents are here. She had a car crash. I got the phone call and went to the emergency room. As I prayed, the Spirit showed me the events taking place in the emergency operating room. They were giving up on her, but I PRAYED WITH DESIRE. I came against death. In a few minutes, the surgeon came and told us that her liver burst in the crash. They opened her and saw it. All he could do was pack her with packing and close her again.
He basically said, put her house in order.
That night, she did not die. The next day, she did not die. Finally, the doctors said, “Well, guess we better go back in and take out that packing. She might live.” That was over 15 YEARS AGO and she is healthy and alive today! Don’t tell me that PRAYER WITH DESIRE does not move angels. God turns back the sundial and adds years because somebody PRAYED WITH DESIRE.

The Assyrian army marched on Jerusalem.
That same DESIRE WHEN YOU PRAY king, Hezekiah, was king. The leader of the Assyrian army sent a letter telling Hezekiah that his army utterly destroyed every nation it came against and would do the same to Judah. Hezekiah may as well surrender. Hezekiah took the letter to the temple of God. He spread the letter out and read it to the Lord. Then Hezekiah prayed.
2 Kings 19:15 And HEZEKIAH PRAYED TO THE LORD: “O LORD, God of Israel, enthroned between the cherubim, you alone are God over all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth.
Hezekiah told the Lord it was true. The Assyrians utterly destroyed every nation they came against. The word of the Lord came to Hezekiah through Isaiah saying that God heard his prayer. God told Hezekiah the Assyrians would not enter the city and would not so much as shoot an arrow there. In fact, they would go back the way they came. Here is what happened.
2 Kings 19:35 That night THE ANGEL OF THE LORD went out and put to death a hundred and eighty-five thousand men in the Assyrian camp. When the people got up the next morning – there were all the dead bodies!
Sometimes, we face enemies that, in the natural, we cannot defeat. However, when we pray with DESIRE, heaven moves.
There is Daniel. The only thing people could say negatively about Daniel was he prayed too much. Every time they saw him, he was praying in a window. Three times every day, Daniel would pray.

Daniel 6:10 Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and PRAYED, giving thanks to his God, JUST AS HE HAD DONE BEFORE.
You know the story. Daniel’s enemies made a plan causing Daniel’s arrest. They threw him into a lion’s den for execution. Most times when we get into a “lion’s den” crunch, we go to praying, but Daniel did not pray anymore in the lion’s den than he prayed any other day. Many of God’s people are one x-ray away, one pink slip away, one crisis with a child away from learning to PRAY WITH DESIRE. It was not that way with Daniel and it should not be that way with us. Daniel prayed 3 times a day if things were perfect and the sun was shining. He prayed 3 times a day if in a lion’s den. He had a lifestyle of PRAYER WITH DESIRE. You know what the Bible says, don’t you?
Daniel 6:22 MY GOD SENT HIS ANGEL, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, O king.
What I tried to do today, was stir your DESIRE WHEN YOU PRAY. If you pray with desire, your angels will take your prayers before God and God will send your answers. Also, if you will PRAY WITH DESIRE, God will bless your family and friends. Furthermore, if you keep asking and seeking and knocking, you will build a memorial before God and he will send your angel and your answer. God will remember you and save that one out of Sodom. If you will lift up your voice, God will send an angel to rescue your child. If you will PRAY WITH DESIRE, God will send an angel to go before you.
Also, if you will PRAY WITH DESIRE, God will add years to life. Furthermore, if you will PRAY WITH DESIRE, God will send angels to deal with your enemies. Moreover, if you will PRAY WITH DESIRE, God will shut the mouths of the lions for you. Jesus said,
