The Gospel of Luke Chapter 10 audio video notes. We ministered four messages from this chapter of Luke: Better For Sodom Than You, Do not Rejoice About Success, Joy Neighbor Good Samaritan, and Martha Only One Thing is Needed. I think all the messages are good but knowing Jesus told the people of his generation how it would be better for Sodom than for them concerning God’s judgment changes how we think about many things, especially about the “great tribulation.”

Better For Sodom Than You sermon video audio notes (Luke 10:1-16)
Jesus said it would be better for Sodom than it would be for his wicked generation. How can this be? Jesus said the parting word of a witness session should be a warning. If we keep this in its actual context, it makes perfect sense. It explains why Jesus was urgent and aggravated with people’s excuses. He’s not talking about something happening two-thousand-plus years from then. It’s the harvest of hell. He said don’t be ashamed. Warn how it will be worse than it was for Sodom. Let’s ponder this a moment.
Do not Rejoice About Success sermon video audio notes Luke 10:17-21
It’s a command to rejoice, but not about personal success. Over and over we are instructed and encouraged to be joyful in spite of all circumstances. Hundreds and hundreds of times the terms “rejoice” and “joy” are used in the scriptures.
Joy Neighbor Good Samaritan sermon video audio notes Luke 10:21-37
A thing Jesus was happy about was he got to reveal God to us. Jesus was stoked and full of joy because Father, Lord of heaven and earth was revealing the things of the kingdom of God to all people. Even little children can get it. We don’t need to be a Bible scholar. The Samaritans got it. The Good Samaritan neighbor story is coming. We don’t need to be a Jew. Satan can’t blind or stop anyone from seeing the things of the kingdom. We learn it’s totally up to the Father to reveal hidden things and it’s up to Jesus to reveal the Father.
Martha Only One Thing is Needed sermon video audio notes Luke 10:38-42
What is the only one thing needed? Was Jesus saying Martha was cooking too many dishes and only one casserole was needed? Of course not! The one thing Jesus seeks above all else is time with you, a time when you sit at his feet. ‘Martha, Martha, I am way more interested in our spending time together than anything else you can do for me. That’s the one thing needed by you and the one thing I need.’ That one thing will stop us bowing to society or bowing to anything else.
