The Gospel of Luke Chapter 15 audio video notes. To cover the truths of this chapter we ministered three messages: Suppose One of You Lost A…, Lost Coin and The Amazing Father, and Angry Bitter Son. One of the most amazing truths to me was how Jesus enjoyed what people called/call sinners and outcasts to be around him. Another great truth we saw was it wasn’t the sheep or the coin who got themselves lost. Jesus said, “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and LOSES ONE OF THEM.” It’s interesting to me it was the one responsible for the sheep who lost it.

Put yourself in these stories. Did the sheep get itself lost, or were you the sheep in this story? Did you allow the loss of the sheep? How did Jesus word it? Let me ask a different way. Have you ever lost your keys or something important? Did the keys get themselves lost, or did you lose the keys? Which is responsible? How about the precious coin? Who was/is responsible for the loss? What about the child?
Lost Coin and The Amazing Father – video audio notes Luke 15:8-24
Jesus isn’t talking about lost LOCATION-ALLY. He’s talking about being lost RELATIONALLY. God knows our physical location. What God lost was a relationship with the person. The response of the father is the amazing part, not the actions of the son. Father God allows us to squander life away as he patiently waits and never not loves us.
Angry Bitter Son – video audio notes Luke 15:25-32
The older brother unleashed rage on his father, not his younger brother. What anger and bitterness! When religious people become bitter and angry, they can become crueler than lost people and don’t care who they hurt. They will crucify you and laugh about it.
