Hearing The Voice Of God. We have a talking God. This is a difference between our God and the god others serve. There are two reasons we don’t have a talking relationship with God. 1) We are taught God doesn’t talk today. God talks from Genesis to Revelation. He Talks! 2) We don’t want Him to talk to us. If I do believe God talks now I’m obligated to listen and to obey what God says. People don’t want to obey God.
God speaks to our spirit. Where is the human spirit? Scriptures say our spirit is in our spirit is in our belly (KJV Pro 20:27), or inmost part (NIV). Point is God does not speak to our minds. When we hear God it’s in a place far deeper than our minds. God speaks to us in dreams, visions, angels, anointed preaching, prophecies, gifts of the Spirit, and His Word. No matter how it comes the one place we must eventually hear Him is in our belly/inmost being – deep to deep.
How does the voice of God sound?
How God speaks to me:
- The authoritative voice of God
- Still small voice of God
- Witness voice of God
- Enlighten voice of God

John 10:14-16
14 “I am the good shepherd, and I know My own and My own know Me,
15 even as the Father knows Me and I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.
16 “I have other sheep, which are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will hear My voice;
and they will become one flock with one shepherd.
John 10:25-28
25 Jesus answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe; the works that I do in My Father’s name,
these testify of Me.
26 “But you do not believe because you are not of My sheep.
27 “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me;
28 and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My
hand.
Revelation 3:20-22
20 `Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in
to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.
21 `He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and
sat down with My Father on His throne.
22 `He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’ ”
