Watching the movie “Patriot” this week, I realized how those who gave so much died not knowing if what they had done to birth a nation would actually stick. Benjamin Franklin said, “Our Constitution is in actual operation; everything appears to promise that it will last; but in this world nothing is certain but death and taxes.” By all means what a sermon that is. Basically, they had to look from their perspective. Instead, we get to look from our perspective and we know it did stick. Being that America became, and remains, the most powerful nation in the history of man. Therefore it is the nation of liberty!
