We have talked about TEACH ME THE POWER OF A MOMENT WITH PEOPLE. We talked about TEACH ME THE POWER OF A MOMENT IN A PLACE! Today, I want to talk about TEACH ME THE POWER OF A MOMENT WITH A PLAN!
Jeremiah 29:11-13 For I know the PLANS I HAVE FOR YOU,” declares the LORD, “PLANS to prosper you and not to harm you, PLANS to give you hope and a future. THEN you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
First, make sure we see it is the Lord’s PLANS. We get to be in it. It is not that he blesses our PLANS. He has the PLANS that include us. Next, please do not miss God listens to us according to HIS PLANS. We find God when we seek him according to His PLAN. So many people never connect the dots. They never understand why their prayers go unanswered. They do not understand why they do not prosper, have hope, and experience a great future, and they do not walk in the Lord’s PLANS. God loves everyone, but being in HIS PLAN is critical.

GOD HAS AN APPOINTED PLAN AND ASSIGNMENT FOR EVERY PERSON ON THIS PLANET.
Jeremiah 1:5 “BEFORE I FORMED YOU in the womb I knew you, BEFORE YOU WERE BORN I set you apart; I APPOINTED YOU as a prophet to the nations.”
BEFORE JEREMIAH WAS FORMED AND BORN, God had a plan and an assignment for Jeremiah’s life. He does for your life, too. Someone might say, “Well, you don’t know about me. My parents had an accident, and I am the result. They didn’t plan for me.” They may not have, but God did. I know that because God alone can form beings and give life in the womb.
Deuteronomy 32:6 …O foolish and unwise people? Is he not your Father, your Creator, who made you and formed you?
[We call him “Father,” but then doubt he is.]
Job 31:15 Did not he who made me in the womb make them? Did not the same one form us both within our mothers? [God made us all.]
Isaiah 44:2 This is what the LORD says – he who made you, who formed you in the womb, and who will help you…
God alone forms life. No one is a mistake. Life is of God. I DID NOT JUST SHOW UP ACCIDENTALLY! I AM HERE ON PURPOSE FOR A PURPOSE! God has a planned purpose and assignment for every life on this planet.
Here is what I want to say today. GOD DOES EVERYTHING ACCORDING TO A PLAN. “I know the PLANS I have for you,” declares the Lord.

I think most of us know the Bible teaches God has a PLAN for our lives. The problem is, HOW DO WE FIND OR MAKE CERTAIN THAT WE ARE IN THE PLAN GOD HAS FOR US? Let’s look at how the Bible tells you to find God’s PERFECT PLAN for your life. There is nothing more important I can do than help you walk in GOD’S PLAN FOR YOU. There are several ways. You will want to write these down.
WE FIND GOD’S PLAN BY HEARING GOD SPEAK
Genesis 6:13 So GOD SAID TO NOAH, “… So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out…”
One way God reveals his PLAN to us is by our hearing God’s voice. “Noah, my PLAN is to flood the earth. Here is your assignment…” God gave Noah intricate details concerning this ark. “Make it 300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide, and 30 cubits high. Pitch it within and without. Put one door in it and one window at the top…” It was because of the PLAN that God chose Noah. Noah fit into God’s PLAN. Noah heard God speak, did his assignment, avoided destruction, and prospered. GOD DOES EVERYTHING ACCORDING TO A PLAN.

Joshua 6:2 THEN THE LORD SAID TO JOSHUA, “See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men.
God had the PLAN to take the Promised Land. Because of God’s PLAN, God chose Joshua and gave him his assignment. He faced the fortified walled city of Jericho. How in the world could he take it? Joshua heard the Lord’s voice. Again, notice the specifics in God’s PLAN. “March around the city one time every day for six days, but keep your mouth shut. On the seventh day, march around it seven times. Then, blow the trumpets and shout. The wall will fall down flat, and you will take the city.” In a MOMENT God gave Joshua victory, but it was according to God’s PLAN and Joshua doing his assignment. Joshua prospered!
Realize God has a PLAN, and you are in it. Because of the PLAN, the Lord chose you. If you will listen for God’s voice, he will give you your assignment. It is when we are in the assignment that God gives deliverance from the floods of life and unconquerable problems fall. You need to pray every day that God will help you hear his voice. GOD DOES EVERYTHING ACCORDING TO A PLAN.
WE FIND GOD’S PLAN THROUGH PEOPLE.
2 Kings 5:3 SHE said to her MISTRESS, “If only my master would see the prophet who is in Samaria! He would cure him of his leprosy.”
In the story of Naaman, we see the PEOPLE, PLACE, AND PLAN all work together. Naaman had the dreaded terminal disease of leprosy. God had a PLAN to heal him. God used a little servant girl (1) who told Naaman’s wife (2), who told Naaman about the prophet Elisha in Samaria (2Ki 5:3). The king (3) sent Naaman to find Elisha (4). Elisha sent his servant (5) to tell Naaman God’s PLAN. God used five people up to that point and was not done yet.

2 Kings 5:10 And ELISHA sent a MESSENGER unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean.
The PLAN was for Naaman to wash seven times in the Jordan River. Interestingly, Naaman did not like God’s plan. Do you ever not like God’s PLAN?
2 Kings 5:11-12 But Naaman went away angry and said, “I thought that he would surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of the LORD his God, wave his hand over the spot and cure me of my leprosy. Are not Abana and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than any of the waters of Israel? Couldn’t I wash in them and be cleansed?” So he turned and went off in a rage.
No Naaman! No other river will do. God has commanded a blessing for you at a place, but you have to do it according to God’s PLAN. God has a place waiting for us where he has commanded a blessing. However, if we do not follow the PLAN, we will miss the miracle.
2 Kings 5:13-14 Naaman’s SERVANTS went to him and said, “My father, if the prophet had told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more, then, when he tells you, ‘Wash and be cleansed’!” So he went down and dipped himself in the Jordan seven times, as the man of God had told him, and his flesh was restored and became clean like that of a young boy.
Plan Moment
You need to thank God for people in your life who will get in your face and tell you that you are missing God’s PLAN. You can bow up and die with leprosy or adjust to God’s PERFECT PLAN and have your miracle. Look at all the people God used to help Naaman – the servant girl, Naaman’s wife, the king, the prophet, the prophet’s messenger, and finally, Naaman’s servants. God used no less than seven people to get Naaman his miracle and God’s PLAN for his healing. Do you need a healing? Well, God has a PLAN.
WE FIND GOD’S PLAN IN SUPERNATURAL WAYS.
God had a PLAN, and he needed Samson to execute it. Did God send an angel to Samson’s parents to reveal God’s plan?
Judges 13:3 The ANGEL OF THE LORD appeared to her and said, “You are sterile and childless, but you are going to conceive and have a son…”
Samson’s parents had an assignment, and Samson had an assignment. Everyone has an assignment. Sometimes, God reveals his PLAN in supernatural ways.
Concerning John the Baptist, God gave his PLAN 430 years before John was born. God said Elijah would come first (Mal 4:5). 430 years later, a priest named Zechariah would be John’s father. Supernaturally, God revealed Zechariah’s assignment to fulfill that PLAN.

Luke 1:11 Then an ANGEL OF THE LORD appeared to him, standing at the right side of the altar of incense…
The angel told him that he would be the father of John, who would go in the power of Elijah.
Luke 1:17 And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous – to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.
God can send an angel to reveal his PLAN. Does God send angels today?
Hebrews 13:2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have ENTERTAINED ANGELS UNAWARES.
Oh yes, he does send angels. You have probably entertained angels. They were attempting to reveal your assignment and God’s PLAN.
God will also reveal his PLAN supernaturally through dreams and visions. God told Abraham that he had a PLAN/covenant for him. Abraham would have a son in his old age through Sarah. That was their assignment. However, it was not just a plan for Abraham. It was a four hundred year plan including generations of Abraham’s descendants.

Genesis 15:12-16 As the sun was setting, Abram fell into a deep sleep, and a thick and dreadful darkness came over him. Then the LORD said to him, “Know for certain that your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own, and they will be enslaved and mistreated FOUR HUNDRED YEARS. But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves, and afterward they will come out with great possessions. You, however, will go to your fathers in peace and be buried at a good old age. In the fourth generation your descendants will come back here…”
The children of Israel were in bondage to Egypt for four hundred years. Moses led them out, and Joshua took them back to the exact place God said they would come. God not only has a PLANNED ASSIGNMENT for you. He has a PLANNED ASSIGNMENT for your children, grandchildren, and generations that come through you! Every person has a PLANNED ASSIGNMENT. In those assignments are blessings. GOD DOES EVERYTHING THROUGH A PLAN!
WE FIND GOD’S PLAN THROUGH HIS WORD.
The northern tribes of Israel rebelled in 975 B.C., but God had a PLAN. He sent an unnamed prophet to speak the word of the Lord to the wicked king of Israel, Jeroboam.
1 Kings 13:1-2 By the word of the LORD a man of God came from Judah to Bethel, as Jeroboam was standing by the altar to make an offering. He cried out against the altar by the word of the LORD: “O altar, altar! This is what the LORD says: ‘A son named JOSIAH will be born to the house of David. On you he will sacrifice the priests of the high places who now make offerings here, and human bones will be burned on you.”
God had that prophetic word recorded in his word. 334 years later, Josiah became king. A priest found the prophecy and read it to King Josiah.

2 Kings 22:10-13 …And Shaphan read from it in the presence of the king. When the king heard the words of the Book of the Law, he tore his robes… Go and inquire of the LORD for me and for the people and for all Judah about what is written in this book that has been found…
Josiah heard his assignment from the word of God written 334 years before he was born! In a MOMENT, he knew why he was alive. He learned that God had a PLAN and he fulfilled God’s PLAN (2Ki 23:16) I am trying to tell you that God has a PLAN that includes you. In that PLAN is your assignment. In your assignment are the blessings for yourself and your children.
WE CAN FIND GOD’S PLAN THROUGH PRAYER AND FASTING.
Daniel 9:3, 21-22 So I turned to the Lord God and pleaded with him IN PRAYER AND PETITION, IN FASTING, and in sackcloth and ashes. While I was still in prayer, Gabriel, the man I had seen in the earlier vision, came to me in swift flight about the time of the evening sacrifice. He instructed me and said to me, “Daniel, I have now come to give you insight and understanding…”
Daniel had been reading God’s word (Dan 9:2) and saw that the seventy years of Babylonian captivity were about over. He wanted to know God’s PLAN for himself and for the people. Daniel prayed and fasted. God sent an angel. The angel told Daniel what he was asking concerned 490 years divided into three parts. The first part would be 49 years. The second part would be 434 years. That left 7 years. The Messiah would come at that time.
Plan Moment
In the middle of the seven years, after confirming the covenant, he would be “cut off” by his people. Daniel’s assignment was to write it in a book. Then, when it happened, everyone should know exactly what was happening. 483 years later, Jesus Christ stepped into the Jordan River. John the Baptist—Elijah—baptized him, and a voice came from heaven verifying Daniel’s writing.
Matthew 3:17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
God had a PLAN. God has a PLAN. Realize, GOD DOES EVERYTHING WITH A PLAN. TEACH US THE POWER OF A MOMENT IN A PLAN!
Realize this. When you have a spiritual battle, it is the enemy trying to pull you out or keep you out of God’s PLANNED ASSIGNMENT for you. Listen to God’s voice speaking to you through the Holy Spirit. He wants to tell you about your assignment. Make certain that the correct people are in your life and allow them to help reveal God’s PLANNED ASSIGNMENT to you. Watch for angels unaware. Read your Bible.
Hosea 4:6 my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children.
The way we treat the Bible determines how we and our children are treated. Through his word, God will speak to you about your assignment and his PLAN. Pray and fast. Many Christians have never fasted and never found their assignment. Realize that YOU DID NOT JUST SHOW UP ACCIDENTALLY! GOD HAS AN ASSIGNMENT FOR YOU! YOU ARE HERE ON PURPOSE FOR A PURPOSE!

Jeremiah 29:11-13 For I know the PLANS I HAVE FOR YOU,” declares the LORD, “PLANS to prosper you and not to harm you, PLANS to give you hope and a future. THEN you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
Stand to your feet and say this with me. THIS YEAR, I AM GOING TO WALK IN GOD’S PLAN AND FIND HIS ASSIGNMENT FOR MY LIFE. IT’S A PLAN TO PROSPER ME, NOT HARM ME. IT’S A PLAN TO GIVE ME HOPE AND A FUTURE. I WILL CALL UPON THE LORD. HE WILL LISTEN TO ME. THIS YEAR, I WILL RECEIVE THE RIGHT PEOPLE INTO MY LIFE. THIS YEAR, I WILL BE IN THE RIGHT PLACE. AMEN!
