Acts Chapter 4

Peter and John were arrested for preaching in the name of Jesus. Peter said he couldn’t, “there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

Acts Chapter 5 Part 1

Part 1 talks about a couple called Ananias and Sapphira. They said they gave all they received to God but didn’t. They both fell dead because they lied to the Holy Spirit. Let’s take a look at this story.

Chapter 5 Part 2

Twice the thought of “great fear” came upon the church. Today, we do not see great fear in the church. We want the healings, miracles, and good things, but we don’t want anyone messing in our lives.

Acts Chapter 6

True ministry always begins as a servant. We can discern true ministry from false by the person’s attitude to serve in all areas of the church.

Acts Chapter 7

Religious people were unable to resist the words of Stephen. Stephen was charged with blasphemy. Stephen was stoned. When we stand for the truth of God we will be stoned.

 Chapter 8

Chapter 8 tells us about Saul the Pharisee who will become Paul the great apostle. It tells us about the ministry of Philip who began as a deacon and moved out into a great ministry.

Acts Chapter 9

Chapter 9 much happens – Conversion of Saul, Ananias sent to Saul, Saul Proclaims Jesus in Synagogues, Saul Escapes from Damascus, Saul in Jerusalem, Healing of Aeneas, and Dorcas Restored to Life. This is a huge chapter in its meaningfulness for the remainder of the Book of Acts.

Acts Chapter 10

Chapter 10 the fourth step of the Great Commission begins to take place. Jerusalem was chapters 1-7 and Judah 8-9. Samaria and uttermost parts of the world are the remaining nineteen chapters.

Acts Chapter 12

Chapter 12 closes the recorded story of the ministry of Peter and closes the main activity of the Church at Jerusalem. Peter opened the door given him by Christ (Mat 16:19). The gospel went to first the Jews and then the Gentiles. Only once again is Peter mentioned in the Book of Acts.

Acts Chapter 13

Chapter 13 from this chapter on through Acts the church at Antioch takes center place. Saul becomes Apostle Paul and comes into his prominence of ministry.

 Chapter 14 Part 1

Chapter 14 talks about Paul and Barnabas in Iconium, the Ministry at Lystra, the maltreatment of Paul, and the return to Antioch. In every city Apostle Paul entered there was upheaval. People were faced with decisions concerning who is God.

Acts Chapter 14 Part 2

Paul and Barnabas seemed to be gods to those at Lystra. When Paul heard of it he became upset and would have none of it. True ministry will never allow themselves to be exalted.

Acts Chapter 15

This chapter is not only one of the most important chapters in this Book, but it’s also one of the most in church history. It’s the Jew and the Gentile. It’s Law and Grace. This teaching deals with: Conflict (v. 1-2), Conference at Jerusalem (v. 3-29), and Consolation (v. 30-35). The remainder of the chapter is covered in the next teaching.

These who have turned the world upside down have come here also. The Word of God can and should turn our lives upside down. At Berea, they searched the Scriptures daily to see if what they were told is true. Athens has many idols. So do people today. Ministry at Thessalonica (v 1-9), Ministry at Berea (v 10-14), Ministry at Athens (v 15-34).

Apollos was a good ministry, but behind what God is doing today. Some of us simply need to be instructed in the ways of God more perfectly.

Acts Chapter 20
