These messages include ‘Justice And Quickly,’ ‘Pastor and a Pimp,’ ‘Receive the Kingdom of God Like Children,’ ‘Eternal Life One More Thing,’ and ‘What Do You Want Me To Do For You?’ Personally, the message ‘Pastor and a Pimp’ stood out to me. I devised a unique, relevant title focusing on a Pharisee’s prayer versus a publican’s prayer. The narrative unfolds with a stark contrast — one, a very religious man society idolized, and the other, a profoundly sinful man society rejected. Surprisingly, it was the one rejected by society whom the Lord heard and received.

Justice And Quickly – video audio notes Luke 18:1-8
Jesus isn’t telling us God is like this noncaring evil judge who we must beg, bother, and wear down before he answers our requests. It’s the opposite. Jesus set this judge in contrast with God. Jesus said if this unfeeling judge, who didn’t care about people and didn’t fear God, would give justice, how much more would God who loves you give justice quickly?
Pastor and a Pimp – video audio notes Luke 18:9-14
Are these representatives of God present in our communities today? Let’s insert a Pastor in the place of the Pharisee for our story. What I mean is a religious teacher. The tax collector was the most despised and hated of people. For our study, let’s go with a pastor and a pimp.
Receive the Kingdom of God Like Children – video audio notes Luke 18:15-17
Children, especially females, had little value at the time Jesus came. However, into this world came Jesus. We’ve come a long way, haven’t we? This year, mothers will abort 1.5 million American children. Millions of American fathers will abandon their children. Forty percent of our children will grow up without their fathers. Every ten seconds, someone files a child abuse report. Child trafficking is at an all-time high and has consistently risen over the past several years. It continues to be a harsh world for children.

Eternal Life One More Thing – video audio notes Luke 18:18-30
I need to point out that Jesus didn’t issue a universal statement requiring everyone to sell everything and give it to the poor to have eternal life. Aren’t you glad? But what if he did? Could we do it? There’s the issue of one more thing. What is my and your one more thing? I mean, what is my and your barrier we need to deal with before we can follow him and have eternal life?
What Do You Want Me To Do For You? video audio notes Luke 18:31-43
That question is what Jesus asked a blind man. Was this a real question? Really? What would the guy answer, “Do you have a little change?” “I’d like a new cloak. I left mine back there.” Or, “I need some new sandals.” No. This opportunity was a chance of a lifetime. It was a divine appointment. He could get his life back. He could regain his vision, heal, live, and function. Moreover, he could be the person he was supposed to be and function again. How many of us would love Jesus to ask, “What do you want me to do for you?”
