Warrior’s Cause audio video notes. God created men with something deep inside that desires to fight for what they believe. God created every man with a Cause for which to fight. David said immediately before he took out Goliath, Is There Not A Cause? Is there a cause for you – your marriage, your children, your financial, being a great leader for your family? Something amazing happens to a man when he recognizes his cause.

Exodus 15:3; Ezekiel 22:30; 1 Samuel 17:29; Nehemiah 4:14; Acts 8:3

I intend for this series to help us men understand more about how God created us. He created us with a WARRIOR spirit and gave us a WARRIOR attitude.

Ladies, I plan to help you too. Ask you a question. Ladies, if your man has ever “driven you crazy” raise your hand. I intend to help you understand why he does. Then he won’t drive you as crazy.

Ladies, sometimes you feel as if you are “raising your man” nearly like raising a son. You didn’t marry a man to have another son. Women, you feel you must “handle” your man (which never works). You must learn that instead of being a “handler,” you must be a “helper” – helpmeet (Gen 2:18). That’s how God created you and no one, repeat, no one, can do that for your man like you. If you “help” him become the WARRIOR God created him to be, you will be one happy woman.

As difficult as it is to believe, Lady, your man is created in the image and likeness of God. God created your man with great capability. He created your man with limitless possibility. He gave your man all the strengths God could possibly give him without making him God.

God made your man somewhat like you, but distinctly different from you. Thus, when he doesn’t fit your mindset, it’s because he is not supposed to fit. He is a WARRIOR inside and will never “fit.” How do I know he is a WARRIOR? Because your man is created in the image of God and God is a WARRIOR.

The Lord’s not wimpy. The Lord’s not “Mr. Nice Guy.” He is a WARRIOR.

Exodus 15:3  The LORD is a WARRIOR; the LORD is his name.

There is nothing, the Lord God cannot conquer. There is nothing you, sir, cannot conquer. Sir, God created you to fight. Lady, if you want the security you crave, “help” the warrior inside your man come out. Then you and your children will be blessed. You won’t need to worry about anything if you have a godly WARRIOR in your home.

If we looked through church today, we would see there is a lack of godly WARRIOR men. It’s always been that way. Over 2,500 years ago, the Lord said…

Ezekiel 22:30  “I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I FOUND NONE.

A land is judged by God because there are no men who will take responsibility. God has difficulty finding men who will build up the wall of protection and stand in the gap – the weak places. Weak places, like in the things of God and family, finances, marriage, raising children, morality, and integrity etc. God is looking for men of integrity who will stand up, fight, and protect. He said he found none back then. When he looks today, does he find you?

It’s heartbreaking as we actually look at churches all across the world and find there are far more women involved in the church and the things of God than men. Why is that? One reason is churches seem to feminize men. Churches soften manhood and turn men into spiritual transvestites. Is that too rough to say? I am going for the shock value. Between the church and some wives, we end up with emasculated men. We teach him as if he is a she, but want him to act like a man. Some wives want her man to think like her and react like her and frequently end up with a “sometimes” man. That’s what I see at any rate. Ladies, you must decide if you want to make your man a woman, or help him be a WARRIOR.

Most churches teach the scriptures in a way that says, “A Christ-following man is only a nice guy (nearly a wimp).” However, when we look at the scriptures, we find that a man of God is much more than only a nice guy.

God created men with something deep inside that desires to fight for what they believe.

God created every man with a CAUSE for which to fight. David, as a young warrior, said to his brothers, who gave him a hard time immediately before he took out Goliath…

1 Samuel 17:29  And David said, What have I now done? IS THERE NOT A CAUSE?

Is there a cause for you? Is your marriage thriving a cause? Are your children becoming great people a cause? Is your financial independence a cause? Is your being a great leader for your family a cause? Something amazing happens to a man when he recognizes his cause for which he believes. We send a boy off to the armed forces. The next time we see him, that boy is a man. What happened? The service gave him a cause. Now he would die for his nation. He is ready to fight for a cause in which he believes.

The Bible talks about Nehemiah. The people of Israel were in captivity for seventy years then released. However, Jerusalem was rubble. Nehemiah went to Jerusalem with a cause – rebuild the walls for defense and protection of the city. So Nehemiah arrived in Jerusalem and we read…

Nehemiah 4:14  After I looked things over, I stood up and said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, “Don’t be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, AND FIGHT FOR YOUR BROTHERS, YOUR SONS AND YOUR DAUGHTERS, YOUR WIVES AND YOUR HOMES.”

They did and rebuilt the walls with a sword in one hand and a tool in the other. Something happens to a man when he realizes there is a cause for which to fight. He gets an attitude, an adrenalin rush, and he becomes a WARRIOR. So, ladies, help him find his CAUSE.

Movies feed off the warrior’s cause. There are two kinds of movies; “chick flicks” and real movies. I’ll watch a chick flick because it makes my wife happy, but there’s something about a guy movie that pushes a man’s buttons. How many remember Russell Crow in Gladiator? “Brothers! What we do on earth echoes in eternity!” How about Mel Gibson in Braveheart? William Wallace painted his face blue. He wanted to stand out to the enemy. He said, “Fight, and you may die. Run, and you’ll live. At least a while. And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willing to trade ALL the days, from this day to that, for one chance—just one chance—to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they’ll never take…OUR FREEDOM!”

A man is created to fight for a cause. That’s why guy movies stir a man. UNTIL A MAN FINDS THE CAUSE FOR WHICH HE WILL DIE, HE NEVER TRULY LIVES. God has made a man with a fighting warrior spirit. That’s why men love contact sports, competitive sports, hunting, fishing, wrestling, fighting. Those things scratch the itch. Without something to focus the cause on, we get internally bored. And, that’s when things can go bad.

A WARRIOR WITHOUT FINDING THE RIGHT CAUSE TO FIGHT FOR WILL FIND THE WRONG CAUSE TO FIGHT AGAINST AND HE WILL SELF-DESTRUCT.

This is where men mess up. Without the right thing to fight for, men become internally bored and fight against the wrong cause. They fight against authority and become rebellious at work self-destructing. Without finding the right cause to fight for, a man will hurt the people he should love and people who love him the most. A man will throw away his marriage in a moment of boredom and self-destruct. David should have been fighting with his army and for his cause. Instead, in a moment of boredom, David messed up his life and family looking at beautiful Bathsheba from the balcony. A warrior with the wrong cause always becomes destructive.

Saul of Tarsus, before he became Paul the apostle, did this. He was a Pharisee not understanding Christ. He was fighting for the wrong cause. Look what he did.

Acts 8:3  But Saul began to DESTROY the church. Going from house to house, he dragged off men and women and put them in prison.

A man always becomes destructive when fighting for the wrong cause. He will destroy his health, his family, his finances, his occupation, his world, his life.

Sometimes women don’t like these type of lessons which encourage a man to be a warrior. You might be saying, “Stop encouraging my husband. He’s messed up enough with that attitude.” Lovingly, allow me to say to you somewhere in your life, you had a negative experience with a man’s strength gone bad – gone destructive. Without a warrior finding the correct cause, he will find the wrong cause destroying something good. Lady, if you will help him “tend his garden,” meaning help him develop strengths and cause, they will be used for great good.

So, men, young and old, what’s your cause? What is it? Could you write it down?

Your cause will change with age. When a man is 18, his cause is different than when 38. When he is 58, his cause is different yet. The question is what is your cause right now? If you are a young man in school, your cause is to excel in school. Paint your face blue and be a warrior concerning your education. If you are a young man not married, your cause is to wait for the correct woman. Paint your face blue and be a warrior about this. If you are married, then for some, your cause should be your marriage. Your marriage might not be what God intends it to be. It’s under attack and you better stand in the gap, paint your face blue, lead your family, and become a warrior for your marriage.

You might need to ask your wife for forgiveness and say, “Sweetheart, I have not led our family the way I am supposed to lead. Forgive me. I will, from this day on, be the warrior and leader God intended me to be.” For some of you, it’s your children. Your children are straying away from integrity and the truth of God. You might be a great warrior at work, but you are losing the battle for your children.

It’s time to paint your face blue, stand in the gap, and battle for your children.

For some of you, it’s your finances. You are in debt and it’s because you, sir, allowed it. You are strapped financially and unless you paint your face blue, draw your sword of the Spirit, and become a warrior with a cause, this enemy will keep you and your family in slavery the rest of your life. Some of you need to stand up against addictions – alcohol, drugs, pornography, gambling. You need to paint your face blue, drive your sword in the ground, and say, “I will be a warrior and defeat this enemy!”

What’s your cause? Without one, you will fight for the wrong cause, self-destruct, and destroy what you should love. Without a cause, you will never truly live. Stop being a nice guy and fight for the right cause.

Young men ages 10 to 100, you are created to be a godly WARRIOR. There are times you will be “nice,” but you are not created to be “Mr. Nice Guy,” or a wimp. You, sir, were born to be a warrior. You have an attitude that comes out when you are ready to war. However, when it’s the wrong cause, you are destructive and brainless. You drive your wife crazy, your children crazy, and everyone else crazy, but you have limitless possibilities. You have great capabilities, and you have strengths that make you much like God. The Lord God is looking for WARRIORS today who will build the wall to defend and stand in the gap of weak places. What is your CAUSE? Will to fight for your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes today?

What you do on earth echoes in eternity.

Will you paint your face blue today, drive your sword in the ground, and stand with me today to be the WARRIOR God created you to be? If you will, I want you to stand to your feet right now and we will pray that God will take this series and help each of us become WARRIORS. (Pray – be seated)

Women, your man just made a commitment to God, you, and your children. You must stop trying to “handle” your man and “help” him bring the warrior within, out. You must help him find and define his cause. If you will you will be one happy woman. If that is you, will you stand and allow me to pray with you? (Pray – be seated)

Some of you are not where you need to be with God – both men and women, married and single. You feel something inside pulling you. That’s the Spirit of God wanting to help you make your life better. The Bible says Jesus came to give you life and that abundantly. If that’s what you want, let me pray for you.
