Where was the “coolest” place you’ve ever been? Where was it when time came to leave, you became depressed because you didn’t want to come back home? Some might say, “Anywhere,” but surely there’s been at least one special place. My point is we have something in our genetic coding that desires to transcend being where we consider normal. C.S. Lewis said in Mere Christianity, “If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world.”  I like that and today I want to talk a little about “transfiguration into another world.” Let’s read our passage in its entirety.

Luke 9:28-36 About eight days after Jesus said this, he took Peter, John and James with him and went up onto a mountain to pray. As he was praying, the appearance of his face changed, and his clothes became as bright as a flash of lightning. Two men, Moses and Elijah, appeared in glorious splendor, talking with Jesus.
