God’s patience for repentance of wickedness is long, but always limited. It is at this time we meet Noah though perfect in his generations was an end time generation.
Concerning Noah what does “perfect in his generations” mean? The NIV version says that Noah was “….blameless among the people of his time….” We could easily read over this and miss an extremely important truth. To see this wonderful truth we must begin by seeing how the Lord views generations. It’s in Noah sermon series notes.
Noah Found Grace – sermon notes
Noah was not normal for his day, but it was because Noah was abnormal he found saving grace in the eyes of the Lord
It is in that context literal giants that we find Noah in the scriptures. This is why it is said of Noah that he was “perfect in his generations” (Gen 6:8, 9). The Hebrew word for “perfect” is tamiym (Strong’s #8549) meaning “entire”. Noah was not perfect as in without fault. Noah was perfect in that he was not defiled with giants or Cain. Noah’s Nakedness – sermon notes
Noah’s Nakedness – Ham failed to do the proper thing – cover his dad. That failure reaped terrible consequences, and not for Ham only. The major lesson is Ham’s actions brought a curse upon his generations.
Noah was a righteous man. But to hear some preach about Noah one would be forced to doubt Noah’s righteousness. Noah got drunk. Noah’s drinking caused him to become so drunk he passed out. Most preaching from Genesis 9 say Noah was unrighteous. It is at this we look. It’s in Noah sermon series notes.
