Filled with the Spirit – sermon video audio notes
The apostle Paul needed to instruct first century believers to be filled with the Spirit. These were believers who actually received ministry from the apostles who walked with Jesus. Still Paul needed to tell them to be filled with the Spirit. Obviously we can be believers and attend church with the best of ministries, but not be filled with the Spirit. I was recently at a great church preaching a seminar. There were many people there who were hungry for God, but there were many other members not hungry who should have been hungry. Many were leadership. I believe people in leadership should keep themselves hungry for a move of God. Don’t you want your leaders hungry for God? Paul said realize we are in a war. The enemy is out to destroy us by building a stronghold in our lives. The stronghold can be a habit, a sickness, drug addiction, lust, perversion, greed, rebellion to God, lack of financial discipline, anger, failing marriage. Successful people set the bar high then all through life they lived the delayed gratification disciplined life principle. They constantly eat the cake and later enjoying the frosting. Life is sweet to disciplined people. There is constantly some frosting to eat because the cake was eaten first. The boy disciplined his allowance and later enjoyed something he really wanted. Angry Spirit – People do the craziest things when they loose control of their spirit. Have you ever seen a little toddler through a temper tantrum? Have you ever seen someone become so angry that they hit something like a wall? I remember my aunt getting angry at my uncle crying, throwing pots and pans, and screaming at everyone.
